Cabbage is very easy to grow and is very satisfying to watch mature! It is frost hardy and is very low maintenance other than the occasional pest. If you plan to plant cabbage in your container garden plant off to the side so it doesn't dominate the entire space! Big plants!

    Process and Exclusions

    We reserve the right to replace or repair as required. Issues we can help with, but not included in the warranty: improper installation or assembly when not performed by a LifeSpace certified installer, puncturing of the liner, aesthetic imperfections, cracking or checking of the wood as it seasons, wood finish/stain, castors or wheels, damage during moving or installation and wood rot from lack of basic maintenance or improper installation.

    Return Policy:

    Within 7 days you can return your LowRider, HighRise, SaladBar, Canopy, or Project Garden Box – no questions asked for a full purchase credit. Gardens must be in new condition, and original packaging. Returns can be sent to #8 - 262 E Esplanade, North Vancouver BC, Canada. V7L 1A3. The cost of shipping is not covered in our return policy.

    Our GardenWell Kits and custom built garden models, such as: Heirloom, Artifex, Elevated Heirloom/Artfiex, Harvest Table, and any CondoFarm with engraving or custom finishing are built and assembled to order and not eligible for return and deposits non-refundable.

    Almost all of our products can be shipped across Canada and to the lower 48 States of USA.

    For our smaller gardens such as: LowRider, HighRise and Canopy, shipping is calculated as part of the check out process.

    For our larger gardens such as: Artifex and Heirloom, a custom shipping quote is required, and is part of the "Request a Quote" process.

    For our local clientele, gardens can be delivered directly to you by the LifeSpace Team.

    We offer both Residential and Commercial installation services throughout the Vancouver area complete with our premium living soil, organic veggie seeds and seedlings, and can provide garden planning and season long support.

    Edible Gardens, Foodscaping and Urban Agriculture are our specialty!

    How do I Grow Cabbage?

    You can start cabbage indoors early in the season. Use a seedling tray, plant one seed per cell, about 1/2" deep and cover with soil. When the seedling has 3 true leaves, you can move it outside.

    Cabbage initially needs lots of water making them perfectly suited for life in your self watering gardens, with a constant supply of water they also grow much faster.  If leaves are spreading to other squares or begin to turn yellow, trim them back. Heavy mulch will help retain moisture and keep soil cool throughout the hotter months.

    Harvesting

    Cut off the entire head where the plant meets the root, just below the surface of the soil. You can harvest them as soon as the head feels firm, before it begins to open at the top. If any cabbage heads are beginning to open, harvest them immediately. Feel free to experiment on size here and see what flavour you prefer depending on size.

    Rotate your cabbages every season you plant them to avoid pests and disease.

    Preparing and using

    Cabbage can be eaten cooked or raw. Cabbage makes a great addition to a salad, a stir fry or even a sandwich! Try making sauerkraut from cabbage and enjoy all year long. If kept in a cool dry place, cabbage will last weeks after being harvested.
