    LifeSpace Wood Finishes

    LifeSpace Gardens Guarantee

Your LifeSpace Garden is crafted out of Western Red Cedar, harvested from the forests of British Columbia. The natural characteristics and high oil content of this beautiful wood makes it ideal to use outside and withstand the seasonal elements. Cedar, like all natural materials, will season uniquely and accrue it own natural patina and character over time. Small cracks, silvering, knot holes and weathering are all part of this natural process. However, with proper care, your garden can last a lifetime.

The LifeSpace Guarantee takes this natural process to mind. The wood will age, but the craftsmanship will remain. We guarantee the structural integrity of your LifeSpace Garden & the functioning of your GardenWell sub-irrigation system.

Start growing your broccoli indoors in a seedling tray 6-8 weeks before planting and transplant in your garden one month before the last spring frost.

For fall crops, start them in a seed tray in July and transplant them into the garden towards the end of August. If you have a lot of space in your garden, you can directly sow your Fall crop about ninety days before the first fall frost. harvesting

When your main central heads are ready to harvest, cut them off at the base with a serrated knife or clippers and leave as many leaves as possible.  Make sure the cut the broccoli stem at an angle so it is less likely to rot.  Your broccoli is ready to harvest when the heads appear full and tight, don’t wait too long to harvest because flower buds will open.

If you have several broccoli plants, don’t wait until they’ve all matured to begin harvesting; instead harvest each plant as soon as it looks ready and keep harvesting regularly so that more broccoli will grow.

    Helpful Tips and Tricks

Once you’ve cut away the main stock don’t remove the plant, smaller heads will crop up and form a second harvest. Broccoli takes a long time to mature, so it is helpful to start them in a seed tray to make the most out of your garden space.
